中文摘要：林纾《评选船山史论》(以下简称《史论》),堪为文史评论之范典。林纾不仅深得船山之学,善于阐精补义,开掘船山之微言大义,亦自成一家之言。其言或补船山所未及,或讥切时事,读之亦可籍识畏廬忧慨之同深。林纾作为文学家、翻译家历来为人们所熟识,而作为古文家,其《史论》至今尚未进入文学及史学家们之研究视阈,又因其文辞艰深、典故繁多,而鲜有其研究者,本文将以《史论》为对象,对其论述特点及其方法、内容考述之。

外文摘要：Lin Shu has set a real good example for historical criticism by his book Selective Criticism on Chuanshan＇s Historical Essays （hereafter referred to as Historical Essays）. His understanding of Chuanshan＇s historical theory is profound and far - reaching; his elaboration and supplement are incisive and adequate, discovering Chuanshan＇s great academic views and theoretical essences put in a simple and concise language. And his ideas and criticisms are original and theoretically systematic, either adding what has been unsaid by Chuanshan or satirizing current events, full of deep worries and concerns between the lines. As a man of letters and translation, Lin Shu is well known to all generations of people. As an expert in ancient prose, however, he has not yet been deeply involved in the study of literary men and historians in that his book is hard to understand and inclusive of a world of classical allusions. This paper discusses the content, feature and research method concerning the book.
