中文摘要：通过对《中国图书馆分类法》(第5版)设置的"机械与设备"类目进行调查发现,该类目存在类目重复设置、类目设置不规范、类目注释不规范、类目名称不规范、类目编码不规范等问题。这些问题共有两种解决方案:一是完善、充实"TH"类目,删除其他学科设置的"机械与设备"类目,以集中所有涉及机械(设备)制造问题的文献;二是完善总论复分表"-33"类目,以类分涉及机械(设备)在学科上的应用问题的文献。实施此方案,不但可以解决所有问题,而且有助于减少《中国图书馆分类法》的篇幅。

外文摘要：It is found that there exist lots of problems by investigating the categories of ＂machinery ＆ equipment＂ in Chinese Library Classification （CLC, 5th edition）, such as repeated categories setting, irregular categories setting, annotation, naming and coding. Two solutions are put forward： first, improving the category of TH, and deleting the category of ＂machinery ＆ equipment＂ in other fields to put together all documents on machinery and equipment manufacturing; second, perfecting the category of -33 in the general compound table to classify documents involving machinery and equipment applying, implementation of the plans, not only can solve all problems, but also greatly reduce the length of CLC.
