中文摘要：学术文献中“位点”的英译既有site,也有locus,前者多于后者。依据“术语在线”,“位点”的英译是site,“基因座”的英译是locus。文章比较分析两个术语的不同定义,从词源的角度区分其英译的含义,指出“位点”误译的原因在于:“位点”和“基因座”定义的重叠,翻译软件、网络百科等的错误指引,“位点”有关术语的表述不严谨。为了避免“位点”误译,“位点”与“基因座”在定义上必须严格区分。“位点”只有在与基因变化相关时,才可译成site。

外文摘要：The English translations of“位点(Site)”in academic literature are very confusing,which include both“Site”and“Locus”,with the former being more common than the latter.According to the professional dictionaries of“TermOnline”,the English translation of“位点”is“Site”,while the English translation of“基因座”is“Locus”.The author made a comparative analysis of several definitions of the two terms and distinguished their meanings of English translations from an etymological perspective.The author thinks that the main reasons for the mistranslation of“位点”are the intersection and overlap of definitions of the two terms;misleading guidance from translation software,online encyclopedic vocabulary,etc;non-rigorous expression of terms related to“位点”.To avoid mistranslation of“位点”,“位点(Site)”should be strictly distinguished from“基因座(Locus)”in definition and expression.Only when“位点”is directly related to genetic changes,can it be translated as“site”.
