中文摘要：研究文学作品的"内容"、"题材"、"主题",必须明确各个概念的内涵与外延,将它们的相关称谓规范化,"题材"研究是基础、中心与重点。研究"俗曲"的"题材",应该以整体"俗曲"为考察对象,兼用"题材分类法"、"数量统计法"、"分析归纳法"与"典型例证法"等。用这种思路与方法指导"西调"的"题材"研究,能够推演出比较可靠的结论:"西调""题材"以展现清代前期闺中思妇聚少离多、日思夜想的悲剧性爱情生活为主体,以展现失意文人悠闲自在、纵情声色的荒谬性言谈举止为从体,以展现上层市民游园聚会、昼饮夜唱的享乐性世俗活动为补充。

外文摘要：When we study the ＂content＂,＂subject matter＂ and ＂theme＂ of literary works,we must make clear the connotation and denotation of various definitions and standardize their relevant terminology,with ＂subject matter＂ as the basis,core and emphasis. The study of ＂Vernacular songs＂ should regard the whole song as its object,employing ＂material classification＂ ,＂ quantity statistics＂ ,＂analytical induction＂ ,＂ typical exemplification＂ ,etc. Directing the ＂subject matter＂ study of ＂ Xidiao＂ with such a method will acquire relatively reliable conclusion：the ＂ subject matter＂ of ＂Xidiao＂ has the tragic love stories of young women missing their lovers as its main part,disappointed scholars ＇ absurd behavior of leisure and sex as its subordinate part,and enjoyable vernacular activities of upperclass people traveling and having parties as its complement.
