外文摘要:Microalgae are eukaryotic photosynthetic microorganisms that can produce hydrocarbons, proteins, polyunsaturated fatty acids, vitamins, carotenoids, and other chemicals. A review outlined the great potential of marine microalgae for applications in a variety of areas, including for human nutrition and feed in aquaculture; as biofertilizers and in the treatment of effluents; and as anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, and analgesic agents. These researchers also highlighted the fact that some marine unicellular algae, such as Porphyridium and Rhodella (rhodophytes), and cyanobacteria, such as Arthrospira, can produce sulfated polysaccharides, which have already found applications as antiviral agents, either in vivo or in vitro, as well as nutraceuticals, agents to prevent tumor cell growth, therapeuticals, and even ion exchangers and drag reducers. ? 2015 Elsevier Inc.
