外文摘要:With growing demand for functional foods, the multi-dimensional regulatory effects and mechanisms of food-derived bioactive molecules have drawn increasing attention. Here, we demonstrate that SLPWPMKPMNLIE, a potential hypotensive peptide from Pinctada martensii with ACE inhibitory capacity, protects SH-SY5Y cells against MPP+/Ang II-induced neurotoxicity. The peptide attenuates oxidative stress damage in SH-SY5Y cells, restores mitochondrial membrane potential and mitigates iron deposition via modulating the renin-angiotensin system. Specifically, the ACE/Ang II/AGTR1 axis was downregulated and the protective MAS1L was promoted, as a result, the expressions of neurotrophic factors was restored in SH-SY5Y cells. These findings reveal a RAS-modulating neuroprotective mechanism of the shellfish-derived ACE inhibitory peptide, providing novel insights into alleviating hypertension-related cognitive impairment. ? 2026, The Authors.
