中文摘要：从语义角度对时间副词"一直"与"总"进行比较分析,并从"一直"与"总"各自具有的与其语义特点密切相关的功能形式角度加以解释论证。指出"一直"表达的是一种持续量,基本语义为持续不变;"总"表达的是一种重复量,基本语义为无例外地重复;事情事件、动作行为、性质状态等的重复是达成"一直"和"总"相通之处的原因,两者能否互换,关键在于句中是否给事情事件、动作行为、性质状态等提供一个可以重复的语义环境。

外文摘要：This article compares and analyzes the time adverbs ＂Yizhi＂ and ＂Zong＂ from semantic perspectives, and then proves the conclusion through explaining the forms of syntactic function closely related to their semantic characteristics. It points out that ＂Yizhi＂ which indicates sustaining is an expression of sustained volume, while ＂Zong＂ which indicates repeating without exception is an expression of the amount of duplication.The repeating of things or events, movements or acts, and nature or state causes ＂Yizhi＂ and ＂Zong＂ to be in common. The substitution of the two depends on whether the sentence can provide a semantic environment to repeat for things or events, movements or acts, and nature or state.
