外文摘要:As powered vessels independent of sails or wind, yacht design must satisfy not only fundamental engineering requirements but also aesthetic and comfort considerations. Inspired by the morphology of the polar pelagic nudibranch Clione limacina, this study proposes a biomimetic yacht hull form derived from its biological structural features. Numerical simulations were conducted to systematically evaluate the hydrodynamic performance of the proposed yacht under different speeds and sea conditions, focusing on motion response, seasickness rate, and vertical acceleration root mean square (RMS). The results demonstrate that the biomimetic yacht exhibits superior hydrodynamic performance without compromising its appealing appearance design. Notably, the design improves seakeeping capabilities and mitigates seasickness in adverse sea states. This study provides valuable insights for the application of biomimicry in yacht design and the optimization of seakeeping performance. ? 2025 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.
