外文摘要：How to improve the quality and characteristics of a school and cultivate senior talents that meet local economic and social needs is a realistic issue facing local colleges and universities.This article takes Guangdong Ocean University as an example to introduce the practice and exploration of developing marine engineering majors and cultivating application-oriented innovative talents in local colleges and universities under the background of a strong ocean country.It also analyzes the current main problems,and puts forward suggestions to speed up construction and development.
