外文摘要:This research investigated the impacts of PPE on fish hypoxia tolerance. Firstly, a total of 300 carp (Cyprinus carpio var. Jian) were fed with five different dry feeds for 15 days, each containing 0.0% or 0.5% of PEE, EAE, EE, or AQE of pomegranate peel. The results showed that dietary PPE addition enhances the DT and reduces OCR of carp under hypoxi conditions, and EE of pomegranate peel showed the strongest effect. Moreover, the effects of four PPE on the DT and OCR are closely related to their polyphenol content. In a subsequent experiment, 420 carp were fed seven different dry feeds containing varying levels of EE (0, 0.3, 0.6, 0.9, 1.2, 1.5 and 1.8%) for 15 days. The results indicated that dietary EE under hypoxic conditions reduces OCR, RBC and MCH in blood and the content of ammonia in plasma. It also increased hypoxia DT, Hct, MCV, Hbc and MCH in blood, as well as the activities of GOT in hepatopancreas and muscles, GPT in hepatopancreas, muscle and gills, and LDH in gills and muscles of carp. The optimal EE levels for carp were estimated to be 1.337% and 1.279%, based on the broken-line regression analysis of DT and OCR, respectively. Dietary EE addition decreased the contents of MDA in gills and red blood cells and H2O2 in the gills and muscles and increased the activities of AHR, GPx and ASA in red blood cells, SOD and GST in red blood cells and gills and CAT in muscles as well as the content of GSH in red blood cells of carp. In conclusion, dietary EE enhances hypoxia tolerance in carp by improving protein and carbohydrate metabolism and boosting antioxidant capacity of respiratory organs. EE from pomegranate peel can act as a natural agent to mitigate hypoxic stress in fish. ? 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.
