中文摘要：曼斯菲尔德的短篇小说《白丽尔小姐》与海明威的短篇小说《一个干净明亮的地方》皆为短篇小说精品。虽然前者擅长捕捉女性细腻的感情,后者从男性刚直的视觉看生活,但从不同角度,用不同画面反映同一个主题:老年人孤独的状况。通过剪接两篇小说的画面,展现出现代派不同艺术手法的相同效果,从外部环境、个人处境到内心深处勾画出一副副老人寂寞孤独的鲜活图画。

外文摘要：By analyzing the characters, images ,contexts and thoughts contained in the short stories, Miss Brill by Mansfield and A Clean, Well-lighted Place byHemingway in an integrated way, we find the striking features of the modern approaches of the stories： different artistic styles express the same effect of the life, which reveals the loneliness of the old in several dimensions.
